Built-In Cabinetry for Liberty Township's New-Build Subdivisions
Roughly 83 percent of Liberty Township housing went up between 1980 and 2009 and under 12 percent predates 1980, so almost every house here is straightforward to build into. Basement build-outs are the dominant brief, followed by fireplace surrounds and fitted closets in primary bedrooms that were given a walk-in but no interior fit-out.
Twenty-four of the township's 113 residential subdivisions have homeowners associations, and we are asked most often whether that affects what you can build. For interior cabinetry it does not. An HOA governs the exterior and the common areas. The only time it touches our work is access: some associations have rules on contractor parking, skip placement or working hours, and it is worth a check before install week rather than on the morning.
Houses of this age give us plumb walls, level floors, nine foot ceilings on the main level and reliable framing. The common trap is the unfinished basement with the panel, the furnace, the water heater and a support column spread across the best wall. We lay that out at the measure, because designing around them from the start is free and moving a run afterward is not.
Full Basement Build-Outs on Walkout and Daylight Lots
We build cabinetry for a Liberty Township lower level: storage runs, a bar, a media wall, bench seating. On walkout and daylight lots we finish to ground-floor standard, with backs on the glazed elevation and moisture-isolated bases where a wall holds earth.
Basement Built-Ins
A water problem gets dealt with before any cabinetry goes in.
Bourbon Display Cabinetry
Shelf spacing is sized to the bottles you actually own.
Two-Story Fireplace Surrounds With Flanking Bookcases
We build two-story fireplace surrounds with flanking bookcases in these great rooms and bring the screen down to seated eye height. The composition stays in the lower two-thirds of the wall, not the full height.
Fireplace Built-Ins
Clearances at your firebox get confirmed before a mantel is drawn.
Media Walls & Entertainment Centers
Your sofa goes on the section drawing before the screen height is set.
Bookcases & Home Libraries
Scaled drawings and a written price reach you before we cut anything.
Dual Home Office Built-Ins, Bonus Room Murphy Beds and Flex Room Storage
We replace builder wire shelving with fitted cabinetry in the closets, the pantry and the laundry, our most requested work, which doubles capacity. Studies we fit out for two working positions; Murphy beds go into bonus and flex rooms.
Closets & Wardrobes
Two short rails where most closets waste one long one.
Pantries & Kitchen Shelving
Tell us what you store and we count it before measuring the wall.
Mudroom Lockers & Cubbies
Built into whatever back hall or side entry your house actually has.
Home Office Cabinetry
An inventory of your equipment comes first, not a furniture layout.
Murphy Beds
The hardware is chosen first, and the cabinetry is drawn around it.
Replacing Wire Shelving With Fitted Closets, Pantries and Mudroom Lockers
We rebuild wire-shelved reach-in closets with double hanging, a drawer bank and sized shoe storage, which routinely doubles what the closet holds. One rail and one shelf leaves everything below about forty inches of garment length as dead air. The drawer bank usually lets the bedroom lose a dresser.
In a pantry we fix depth rather than height. We replace the deep wire shelves with full-extension roll-outs so the back third stops being invisible, and we add door-mounted racks.
In the laundry we take the wire shelf down from above the machines and build a run you can reach: a folding counter, a hanging rail and closed storage. Where the whole house at once is too much, we phase it and start with the primary closet.
- Closets
- Double-hang shirts and jackets, add a drawer bank, size shoe storage. Doubles capacity.
- Pantry
- Deep wire shelves hide the back third. Full-extension roll-outs and door-mounted racks.
- Laundry
- The shelf above the machines is unreachable. A folding counter, a hanging rail and closed storage fix it.
- Phase it
- Replacing wire shelving house-wide is a large number. Start with the primary closet and pantry.

Custom Built-In FAQ for Liberty Township Homeowners
Is replacing wire shelving worth the cost?
In a closet it typically doubles capacity. In a pantry it fixes the deep-shelf problem where the back third is invisible. In the laundry it puts storage at a height you can reach. Doing every closet in a large house at once is a big number, so start with the primary closet and the pantry.
Which Liberty Township subdivisions do you work in?
All of them. There are 113 residential subdivisions in the township, 24 with homeowners associations. The names people use most are Carriage Hill, Fieldstone Farms, Turnbridge and Cherokee Park. Horse Shoe Bend is the oldest pocket, with different housing stock, so we treat it separately.
Do I need HOA approval for interior built-ins?
Generally no. Homeowners association review covers exterior matters such as paint, fencing, satellite dishes and structures, and we have not found a Kentucky or Ohio statute granting authority over interior modifications. Covenants are contracts that vary by subdivision, so if yours has an association it is worth reading them.
Can you finish my basement completely?
We build the cabinetry, the bar, the media wall and the storage. Framing, drywall, flooring, plumbing and electrical are separate trades, named in the written scope with the licensed trade identified. A good number of Liberty basements already have a bathroom rough-in, which simplifies the sequence considerably.
Why do you not publish a median year built for Liberty Township?
Because no township-level figure is published and we would rather not invent one. Roughly 83 percent of units were built between 1980 and 2009, under 12 percent predates 1980, and single-family permits have run at 250 to 300 a year since 2013.
Do built-ins need a permit in Liberty Township?
Cabinetry and finish work do not. New electrical and plumbing do. Finishing a basement as habitable space carries requirements around egress and ceiling height. Liberty is a township in Butler County, so permitting differs from Hamilton County and we confirm it.
